The Carters is a southern gospel group which has two members, my husband Danny Carter and myself Patsy.

In 1980 Danny and I formed the group and were blessed with other members and a live band which traveled and sung until 1989.   In December of 88’ we purchased a restaurant and soon discovered that we could not sing and operate this business properly.  Soon after, we stopped traveling and we built a stage behind the restaurant and tried to promote gospel singings and did this for several years.  Soon this got difficult to continue as the restaurant became busier.  You know, life has a way of slipping up on you, consuming you and will take away the greatest joys in your life.  Our joy of working for and serving the Lord had almost vanished.  We were blessed greatly with a thriving business and we thank the Lord so much for that and for pulling us through some financial difficulties.  In April 2001, we were able to sell the business and began singing.

Singing and traveling again was a big change and we had to start all over. Our kids and family were inspirational in helping to get it started.  Danny and I soon found out that to truly do a sincere work for the Lord that our hearts and life had to be in tune with God.  Through much prayer and seeking the directions of God, our time had truly come again to do a work for Him.  Danny and I are so thankful that the Lord has restored the true joy and happiness in our lives.

We are examples that if you really want to do something for Him and His glory that the way will be made.  Now when we stand to sing you will only see the two of us but I guarantee you that we’re not alone.  Praise God, He fills every gap in your life.

Our group is a trio sound.  Either Danny or myself is singing the third harmony part on our music track.  Michael Lee who was our piano player in the 80’s suggested that we should try singing this way. Since he has a recording studio and makes all of our music, this sounded like a good idea.  We thank Michael for encouraging us to keep on singing and by doing our tracks this way it works for us and we’re seeing great things happen for God.

After much prayer and seeking God’s direction, we have re-arranged our lives with our house and businesses so that we can do our singing as a full time ministry.  We realize this is a big step, but never have we felt more strongly that this is what we need to do for Him.  We give God all the praise and credit for anything that might be accomplished and thank Him for opening this door for us.

Our hearts desire is to help somebody and to tell them that Jesus is the answer for everything in their lives.  When everyone else rejects, He never will and that is a promise that we all have.

Praise God that we can sing for Him again, for we truly know this is our ministry and mission in life.  We love our Lord and it’s an honor to travel for Him.

God bless you and please pray for The Carters,

The Carters

The Carters, a southern gospel group from Ten Mile, TN was formed in Feb. of 1980.  A trio sound which includes Danny Carter singing tenor and lead. Patsy Carter on the alto position and Bonnie (White) Wilson sings lead and tenor.  Michael Lee is the groups piano player and also supplies all the accompaniment music.

The group has had eleven recordings and is in the process of completing the twelfth.  Down through the years they have covered over sixteen states and have saw great things happen for the glory of God.

In March of 1987 the group became regulars on The Mulls Singing Convention on WBIR TV 10 in Knoxville, TN.  They continued their appearances until March of 1989 and at that time they came off the road.  In July 1997  Danny and Patsy sold their restaurant, and after months of prayers, The Carters were impressed by the Lord to sing again as a full time ministry.

The Carters have always had a reputation of being spiritual and having a desire to reach people of all ages through their songs and testimonies.  The group praises God that the foursome is back together again to have another chance to sing praises to the King of Glory and maybe lead someone to Him.  The year 1998 has already proven to be an exciting year for their ministry  and each member is looking forward to seeing great accomplishments for the Lord.

The groups prayer is that they will always be in the center of God's will and would ask that you will be a prayer partner for their ministry.  The Carters are looking forward to seeing you and singing in your area.

Update Nov. 1999---

In Nov. 1999 the unexpected happened. After being away from Mr Twister Restaurant, for 15 months,  Danny and Patsy had to take the business back. Since that was their main source of income there was no other choice. At first they wanted to question the Lord. After much thought and prayers, they decided the Lord does not make mistakes so there much be a reason for them taking it back. In a few short months many things happened to let them know they were where they needed to be. Beginning May 1, 1999 the will host The Carters Lakeside Sing on a stage they build behind Mr Twister Restaurant. You can see who will be appearing there from the home page.

Thanks so much for all your prayers and understanding.
